INEC Opens Recruitment Portal for 2027 Elections
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened its portal for the recruitment of ad hoc staff ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
According to a public notice issued by the commission, the INEC Portal for Recruitment of Election Staff (INECPRES) opened at 8 am on Friday, September 18, 2026, and is scheduled to close at midnight on Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
The recruitment exercise covers several election-related positions, including Supervisory Presiding Officers, Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers, Registration Area Centre Managers and Registration Area Technical Support personnel.
Who Is Eligible to Apply?
INEC’s recruitment categories include eligible federal public and civil servants, serving and former National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, students of tertiary institutions and staff of relevant ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).
Other eligible categories include heads of schools hosting Registration Area Centres, INEC information and communications technology (ICT) personnel, and qualified IT students.
Applicants are expected to select positions for which they meet the stated eligibility criteria and provide the required information through the commission’s designated portal.
