The Kebbi State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has joined Muslims across the state in celebrating Eid-el-Adha, extending goodwill messages to youths and Governor Nasir Idris.
The council described the festive period as a moment for reflection, unity, and prayers for peace in Nigeria despite ongoing social and economic challenges.
Eid Message to Kebbi Youth and Government
In a statement signed by the state chairman, Engineer Ahmed Rufai Khalifah, the NYCN said the Sallah celebration presents an opportunity to strengthen national unity and promote peaceful coexistence.
According to The Bureau Journal, the youth body commended Governor Nasir Idris for what it described as his youth-friendly leadership style and inclusive governance.
The council said many young people across Kebbi State are already benefiting from government initiatives in education, healthcare, and capacity development.
Support for Idris Administration
The NYCN leadership reaffirmed its support for the Idris-led administration, pledging to continue defending the rights and interests of young people across the state.
Engineer Khalifah praised the governor’s developmental strides across key sectors, noting improvements in human capital development and social investment programmes.
“We have decided to celebrate the governor for his rapid developmental strides in all sectors in Kebbi State. Education, health and human capacity building have all received his attention,” he said.
Call for Greater Youth Inclusion
The council also called for increased political inclusion of young people in governance, arguing that youth participation is essential to strengthening democracy and improving grassroots development.
It stressed that empowering young Nigerians in leadership positions would help accelerate delivery of democratic dividends across communities.
The Bureau Journal notes that youth organisations across the country continue to play active roles in political engagement and civic advocacy, especially during national celebrations such as Eid.
