The All Progressives Congress (APC) is leading the Accord Party in the latest results reported from 508 polling units in the ongoing Osun State governorship election.
According to an update attributed to the APC Social Media and Situation Room Team and displayed at 3:40 p.m., the APC candidate had polled 45,456 votes, while the Accord candidate had recorded 44,136 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) was placed a distant third with 1,300 votes in the same update.
APC Holds Narrow Lead
The figures from the 508 polling units put the APC ahead of Accord by 1,320 votes.
The three parties had collectively recorded 90,892 votes in the update shown in the situation room graphic.
- APC: 45,456 votes
- Accord: 44,136 votes
- ADC: 1,300 votes
The figures represent only the results available from the 508 polling units covered by the update and should not be regarded as the final result of the election.
More Results Expected
More results are expected to come in from polling units and wards across Osun State as the collation process continues.
The narrow margin between the APC and Accord means that additional results could significantly alter the current standings.
The Bureau Journal will continue to monitor the collation process and report verified updates as they become available.
Results Yet to Be Officially Declared
The figures currently circulating should be treated as an interim update. The official declaration of the winner remains the responsibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after the prescribed collation process has been completed.
Voters and members of the public are therefore advised to distinguish between party situation-room figures, unofficial projections and results formally announced by electoral officials.
The development comes amid heightened political activity surrounding the Osun election and wider debates about the credibility and transparency of Nigeria’s electoral process. The Bureau Journal’s guide to Nigeria’s 2027 elections and electoral reforms provides broader context on recent changes to the country’s electoral framework.
APC, Accord Race Remains Tight
With just 1,320 votes separating the APC and Accord in the 508-polling-unit update, the race remains closely contested at this stage of the collation.
The ADC, with 1,300 votes in the same update, trails the two leading parties by a significant margin.
As more polling-unit results are received, attention will remain focused on whether the APC can maintain its lead or whether Accord will close the gap.
The Bureau Journal will provide further Nigeria news and election updates as the results emerge.
