The Kebbi State chapter of the City Boy Movement has commended the peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential flag-off held in Kaduna on Saturday.
The movement, coordinated in Kebbi State by Nasir Magaji, popularly known as BBC, said the turnout at the event reflected the level of support the party enjoys among sections of the public in Kaduna and other parts of northern Nigeria.
Magaji made the remarks in an interview with our correspondent in Kebbi, describing the gathering as a significant political event for the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said the movement was encouraged by the crowd at the venue and expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in the forthcoming elections. His comments reflected the group’s position and expectations rather than an independent assessment of voting intentions across the region.
“We are happy with the turnout and also deeply elated for the peaceful conduct of the presidential flag-off in Kaduna,” Magaji said.
He added that the gathering had strengthened the movement’s confidence in the APC’s political appeal under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris.
The Kebbi chapter reiterated its support for Tinubu and Idris ahead of the 2027 elections, saying it would continue to mobilise support for the party.
The movement also urged Nigerians who are eligible to vote to make use of their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) during the elections. It called on voters to participate in the democratic process and choose candidates they believe can deliver on their responsibilities.
Magaji and the movement presented continuity in government as important to development, while encouraging eligible voters to exercise their franchise.
The event comes amid growing political activity ahead of the 2027 general elections. The Bureau Journal has previously reported on efforts by a Kebbi APC assembly candidate to mobilise support for Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris.
Other developments include Kebbi APC stakeholders’ endorsement of Governor Nasir Idris for another term and Idris’ political engagements with traditional rulers ahead of the 2027 elections.
The party’s preparations have also included the appointment of Governor Idris as Director of Labour Relations in the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
As political activities intensify, the Kebbi State Government has also called for peaceful conduct among political actors. The Bureau Journal reported on Governor Idris’ warning against political violence and his appeal for restraint.
The City Boy Movement’s latest statement adds to the public expressions of support for the APC as political groups prepare for the next general elections. The scale of electoral support for the party will ultimately be determined by voters at the polls.
