Arsenal Win Premier League Title for First Time in 22 Years
By Queen Madaki
LONDON, United Kingdom — Arsenal have been crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years after Manchester City failed to defeat Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
The result officially confirmed Arsenal’s return to the top of English football, ending a long wait that stretched back to the club’s famous “Invincibles” triumph under former manager Arsene Wenger during the 2003–04 season.
Manchester City Slip Hands Arsenal the Title
Manchester City needed a victory to keep the title race alive until the final day of the season, but Bournemouth held Pep Guardiola’s side to a draw.
Eli Junior Kroupi gave Bournemouth the lead in the first half before Erling Haaland scored a dramatic equaliser in stoppage time. However, the late goal was not enough to stop Arsenal from securing the championship.
Arsenal End 22-Year Wait
Arsenal currently sit on 82 points with one match left to play, leaving them mathematically beyond the reach of their closest challengers.
The title triumph marks one of the club’s greatest achievements in recent history and completes years of rebuilding under manager Mikel Arteta.
Champions League Glory Still Possible
Arsenal could still make history this season as they prepare to face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final in Budapest on May 30.
A victory would secure Arsenal’s first-ever Champions League title and complete a historic domestic and European double.
Trophy Presentation Set for Sunday
Arsenal will officially lift the Premier League trophy after their final match of the season on Sunday, ending more than two decades of waiting for supporters.
The achievement has sparked celebrations across north London as fans mark the club’s first league title since the legendary unbeaten campaign of 2003–04.
