An All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholder in Kano State, Muhammad Magaji Adam, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms and praised organisers of a town hall meeting focused on the cost of living and opportunities for young Nigerians.
Magaji Adam, an APC stalwart in Kundila Ward, Tarauni Local Government Area, spoke after attending the Baba Tinubu Fisabilillah Town Hall Meeting in Kano.
The forum, held under the theme, “Economic Reforms, Cost of Living and Opportunities for the Young,” brought participants together to discuss the administration’s policies and their implications for households and young people.
Magaji Adam Praises Organisers
Magaji Adam said the meeting provided an opportunity to examine the government’s economic agenda and what he described as its efforts to stabilise the economy.
“I must commend the efforts of the organisers in highlighting the achievements of our able President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his efforts to stabilise our economy and bring sustainable development to our dear nation,” he said.
He also praised the convener, Dr. Aslam Aliyu, known as Gimbiyar Kauran Namoda, for creating a platform for stakeholders to discuss economic conditions and the future of young Nigerians.
His endorsement adds to public expressions of support for the administration, including APC chieftain Haruna Kabiru Wakili’s defence of Tinubu’s economic reforms.
Cost of Living Features in Discussions
Magaji Adam said constructive engagement on reforms was important at a time when Nigerians were seeking improved living conditions and greater economic opportunities.
The cost-of-living discussion comes amid continuing pressure on household budgets. The Bureau Journal’s review of available NBS inflation and food-price figures examines the distinction between slower inflation and the prices consumers pay.
President Tinubu has continued to defend his administration’s approach. In his October 1 Independence Day address, he described the reforms as necessary treatment for longstanding structural problems, while acknowledging the hardship associated with them.
The Bureau Journal reported on Tinubu’s use of a cancer-treatment analogy to explain the economic reforms.
Youth Opportunities Remain a Priority for Participants
Magaji Adam said discussions about opportunities for young people should remain central to engagement on Nigeria’s economic future.
The youth component of the forum comes alongside other initiatives aimed at involving young Nigerians in public policy. NITDA recently announced plans to use artificial intelligence and digital tools to organise youth submissions into policy proposals.
Skills development has also featured in the government’s employment agenda, including the inauguration of a renewable energy college in Kogi, which officials presented as an investment in training, research and job creation.
Magaji Adam concluded by expressing hope for continued progress within the APC and praying for guidance for the party and its members.
“We pray Almighty Allah continues to bless our APC,” he said.
