The Kebbi State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has congratulated Comrade Audu Titus Amba on his re-election as national president, expressing confidence that his return will strengthen the union’s advocacy for teachers’ rights and welfare.

Sarki said Amba’s renewed mandate would provide continuity in the union’s leadership and support its efforts to improve teachers’ working conditions across the country.

The state chairman said the Kebbi chapter would remain committed to the national leadership and continue pursuing measures to protect teachers’ interests.
He expressed confidence that Amba’s return would strengthen the campaign to improve teachers’ livelihoods and address the economic difficulties facing members.
The statement follows the chapter’s recent comments on Amba’s assessment of Governor Nasir Idris’ record on education and teachers’ welfare.
Union Commends Idris’ Presence at Conference
Sarki said Governor Nasir Idris’ attendance at the conference boosted delegates’ morale and reinforced the relationship between the Kebbi State Government and organised labour.
He described Idris as a governor with a teaching background and credited his administration with improvements in Kebbi’s education sector. Those assessments were positions expressed by the union.
Teachers’ remuneration has also featured in recent discussions in the state. The Bureau Journal previously reported on the submission of a committee report reviewing primary school teachers’ salary structure and the Kebbi NLC’s reaction to approved salary adjustments and responsibility allowances.
Sarki also thanked labour affiliates from different states for attending the conference in solidarity with the NUT. He said the election was conducted in accordance with applicable labour laws.
He pledged that the Kebbi chapter would remain steadfast in advocating for teachers’ rights and welfare under the returning national leadership.
