The media office of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Gombe State, Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, has denied allegations circulating on social media that he made abusive or inappropriate remarks during a recent political gathering.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, and signed by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Sani Shawai, the campaign said the allegations were false, misleading and intended to damage Gwamna’s reputation.
The media office maintained that the alleged incident did not occur, insisting that Gwamna did not use abusive language during the gathering as claimed in the reports circulating online.
Gwamna’s Media Office Rejects Allegations
The statement said the APC candidate had consistently maintained a reputation for civility and responsible conduct throughout his personal, professional and political career.
It described Gwamna as a man of honour and integrity, adding that his upbringing in a respected family in Gombe had shaped his values of respect, humility and responsible public engagement.
According to the statement, the candidate’s conduct over the years has been characterised by decorum and respect for individuals and groups, regardless of political differences.
The media office therefore rejected what it described as fabricated and baseless claims, accusing unnamed individuals of attempting to mislead the public and divert attention from issues affecting the people of Gombe State.
Campaign Urges Public to Disregard Allegations
Gwamna’s media office urged members of the public to disregard the allegations and instead focus on the APC candidate’s political vision, experience and record.
The statement reaffirmed Gwamna’s commitment to respectful political engagement, unity and the development of Gombe State.
It also said the media office would continue to monitor the circulation of the allegations and could take appropriate action against individuals it believes are deliberately spreading false information about the candidate.
