Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining the annual free mass wedding programme, saying the initiative will continue to support less-privileged families across the state.

Kebbi Government Marries 300 Couples

Governor Idris gave the assurance on Monday during the 2026 mass wedding ceremony, where 300 couples were joined in matrimony under the programme.

The governor said the initiative was designed to provide support to families facing financial difficulties and help eligible couples establish their homes without the burden of wedding expenses.

He commended his wife, Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris, for championing the programme through her foundation and assured that his administration would continue to strengthen the initiative to enable more less-privileged people to benefit.
