The United States said it was deeply concerned about the reported killings and noted that insecurity in Nigeria had been discussed with Nigerian officials the previous week.
According to the statement, more needs to be done to prevent further attacks and protect vulnerable communities from violence.
The Department of State called on the relevant authorities to ensure that those responsible for the killings are brought to justice, while urging the Nigerian government to take urgent measures to strengthen security across affected communities.
“We condemn the horrific killing of members of Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo’s family in Plateau State and extend our deepest condolences to the victims’ families and all those affected,” the US Department of State said.

US Calls for Stronger Protection of Vulnerable Communities
The US government urged Nigerian authorities to intensify efforts to protect civilians and prevent further attacks, stressing the need for perpetrators to face justice.
The Department of State also reaffirmed its commitment to working with the Nigerian government and international partners to address insecurity, combat terrorism and counter violent extremism.
“We will continue working with the Nigerian government and international partners to combat terrorism, counter violent extremism, and ensure that Christians and all Nigerians can live and practice their faith freely without fear of violence or persecution,” the statement said.
Plateau Remains a Focus of Security Concerns
The development comes amid continuing concerns over insecurity and communal violence in parts of Nigeria’s Middle Belt, including Plateau State.
