According to him, Audi’s administration has introduced reforms in areas including staff welfare, promotions, infrastructure, training, discipline and collaboration with other security agencies.
“Prof. Abubakar Ahmed Audi is a rare breed of leader. He is a round peg in a round hole. His administration has introduced visible reforms aimed at improving the effectiveness and welfare of personnel,” Ibeh said.
He also commended the NSCDC leadership for what he described as a firm approach to discipline, noting that officers found guilty of misconduct should be held accountable in accordance with established procedures.
Ibeh said Audi’s experience within the Corps had contributed to his understanding of its operational and administrative challenges.
“His sagacity, intellectual depth and administrative acumen are worthy of commendation. Having risen through the ranks, he understands the system and the need for reforms that will strengthen the Corps and improve service delivery,” he added.
The group also expressed support for efforts to uphold discipline and accountability within the NSCDC, saying that professionalism and adherence to established rules remained essential to effective security administration.
NAGN subsequently expressed confidence in the leadership of Prof. Audi and called on relevant stakeholders to support initiatives aimed at strengthening the Corps and enhancing national security.
The group also described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reported decision to retain Prof. Audi for another term as recognition of his contributions to the development of the NSCDC.
According to the group, the continued leadership of Prof. Audi provides an opportunity for the Corps to consolidate ongoing reforms and further improve its capacity to serve Nigerians.
