The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement has announced the provision of 25 campaign vehicles and 50 public address speakers for mobilisation in Kogi State, as Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo urged its members to deepen direct engagement with residents ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ododo addressed the team during a visit to Government House, Lokoja, where he commended its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The governor said political mobilisation should extend beyond campaign materials to meaningful conversations with people in their communities.
Ododo Urges Coordinators to Explain Tinubu’s Policies
Ododo asked the coordinators to strengthen teamwork, build closer relationships with residents and communicate the policies and achievements of the Tinubu administration.
He expressed confidence in the President’s electoral prospects in Kogi and urged residents to appreciate Federal Government support, particularly in addressing insecurity.
“This is our time to show appreciation. This is our time to say thank you to Mr President,” he said.
The governor also acknowledged High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and Engr Matthew Tola and his wife for their support for efforts against criminal activities in Kogi.
Security interventions in the state have included the interception of an arms cache and the rescue of abducted people following a gun battle in Itobe.
Lokoja Rally Scheduled for Monday
The movement said the vehicles, speakers and other mobilisation materials would support its activities across the state.
It announced plans for a rally and the launch of the campaign materials on Monday, October 12, in Lokoja.
National Coordinator Sunday Asuku said the visit was to brief Ododo on the group’s activities and formally notify him of the forthcoming rally.
He said members would engage residents across communities, streets and settlements, using facts to explain the administration’s policies and achievements.
The approach mirrors wider grassroots mobilisation for Tinubu across northern Nigeria. Economic reforms are among the administration’s central campaign messages, following the President’s defence of his policies in his Independence Day address.
‘Politics Is Local’
The movement’s North-Central Coordinator, Ambassador Motowa Victor Opeyemi, reaffirmed its commitment to Tinubu’s re-election and said the campaign equipment would improve its reach across Kogi.
State Coordinator Comrade David Mark Ogwu said the group already had structures extending to polling units, wards and local government areas.
“Politics is local. In Kogi State, we believe in local politics,” Ogwu said.
He explained that those structures would provide the foundation for direct engagement with voters, whose state-by-state distribution is detailed in the 2026 national voter register breakdown.
Ododo urged the team to sustain coordinated outreach and keep its engagement focused on residents and their communities.
